SECURITY STATEMENT
 posted 3/30/2005 at 11:18 a.m.
Arizona Arts & Crafts Emporium (AA&CE), understands your concerns regarding Internet security. AA&CE uses CCNow as its Authorized Online Retailer. CCNow has an established reputation as one of the most safest and securest ways to shop on the internet of today. CCNow serves as an Authorized Online Retailer for over 50,000 Web sites selling merchandise online. Our shopping-cart software, managed by CCNow, runs in Secure Mode on the Online Shopper's browser, using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) to encrypt sensitive data such as credit card numbers. CCNow's secure software encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.

CCNow is a certified member and proudly displays the HACKER SAFE® certification mark. Tested and certified daily to pass the FBI/SANS Internet Security Test. The "live" HACKER SAFE mark appears only when a web site's current security status meets the highest security scanning standards of the U.S. government, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB. HACKER SAFE sites help protect you from identity theft and credit card fraud by passing the FBI/SANS Internet Security Test
every day.

To ensure hackers can't steal your private information from the web sites where you shop, ScanAlert's technology acts like a "Super Hacker," conducting daily security scans of every known way for hackers to break-in. Only when we can certify a site is HACKER SAFE will you see the certification mark appear.

The Internet is as secure as using your credit card in a store or over the phone. However, in the event of any unauthorized use of your credit card, most banks either cover all charges that result from the unauthorized use, or may limit your liability to just $50.00.

Here is how the Secure Server Works   ^ back to top
1. Starting Your Order
Every order at www.AzArtsandCrafts.com through CCNow is secure. All data submitted via the checkout form is encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.
2.
Select Currency
Upon selecting an item you will be automatically taken to the "Shopping Cart" site and it is here where you are given the option to "Choose Currency". To select an alternate currency, simply click on the corresponding country flag. Hovering over each flag will show the current rate for conversion from US Dollars to the corresponding currency. The only advantages of paying in your native currency is that you will know the exact amount that will appear on your credit card statement. For Visa and Mastercard the currency you select will be what you are charged in. All other payment types will be charged in United States Denominations (USD) regardless of currency selected.
3. Review Order
Each item added opens the shopping cart within a new window and allows you to review the "Shopping Cart" to verify the item(s) selected and possibly make personalized selections (e.g. color, size, etc.) for your item(s) ordered. You may resume shopping after adding each item by simply closing the popup shopping cart window. If you are reviewing your "Shopping Cart" through our internal link then you can use the product links within the page to continue shopping. If at any time during your browsing you see a "Continue Shopping" link then using this link will take you to our main Home Page.
4. Modify Order
You may delete, modify quantity or cancel any item, if need be. To delete item(s) simply change the quantity (Qty.) to zero (0) for each item(s) you wish to remove from your order AND hit the "Refresh Totals" button.  To modify quantity simply re-enter the new quantity and hit the "Refresh Totals" button.
5. Making a Positive ID
After you've completed your shopping and are ready to process your order simply click on the "
Pay & Finish" button within the "Shopping Cart" page.  At this point, your browser looks for a "site certificate" to confirm that it is communicating with www.AzArtsandCrafts.com. Once a positive ID is made, your order continues. You are shown a itemized view of your items ordered, price reductions if ordered with a coupon and the grand total cost, including shipping or delivery.
6. Entering "Secure Mode"
After reviewing the itemized bill and all is as expected then you can click on the "
Proceed To Secure Checkout". It is at this point that your computer and our server begin communicating in secure mode, sending data back and forth in an encrypted format. We are ready to ask you for your credit card information. The encryption features of browser software are exceptionally powerful and ensure the security of this data as it is transmitted to our server.
7. Your Order Is Complete
What Happens Next? Your personal information and credit card information is placed in the SQL database on the CCNow web server. Your information is verified with your credit card company and upon validation your order is completed. All communications during these sessions are encrypted again using SSL. A email notification will be sent to the email address provided at the time of ordering that contains your order information, order number and contact information for us and CCNow. No credit card numbers are ever sent via e-mail, due to the fact that e-mail is not secure.  To see detailed information on what we do with your personal information visit our "
Privacy Policy" page.

How can you tell if you're in Secure Mode?   ^ back to top
The standard, unsecured URL address begins "
http://". When you enter secure mode, the beginning of the URL address will change to "https://"; the "s" stands for secure. Most browsers in secure mode also display a blue line along the top of the browser window. Netscape Navigatorª (versions 3.0 and earlier) display a broken key symbol in the lower left corner of your browser window when you are not viewing a secure page of a site. This key will become solid when you enter secure mode. Netscape Communicator 4.0 uses a padlock, in the same location as the key, to indicate if you are in standard or secure mode. The padlock is open in standard mode and closed in secure mode. In Microsoft's Internet Explorer¨, you'll see a padlock symbol at the bottom of your browser window when the browser is in secure mode.
